Keep Kashmir connected

The sacred night of Shab-e-Qadr, observed during the holy month of Ramadan, holds immense spiritual significance for Muslims across the world. It is believed to be the night when the Holy Quran was first revealed and a time when prayers, repentance and good deeds carry immense rewards. Beyond its spiritual blessings, Shab-e-Qadr also reminds believers of a profound social responsibility—the duty to care for the less fortunate in society. In Jammu and Kashmir, where many families continue to face economic hardship, this sacred night should inspire people to look beyond their own homes and remember the downtrodden sections of society. Among them are orphans, widows, the elderly without support, and families struggling to meet basic needs. Their silent struggles often remain unnoticed, yet they deserve compassion and dignity. The teachings of Islam strongly emphasize charity, kindness, and social responsibility. The life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is a powerful example of caring for the weak and marginalized. His message encourages believers to share their blessings with those who have less and to ensure that no one is left hungry or neglected. On Shab-e-Qadr, acts of generosity, whether through charity, food distribution, or helping someone in need, carry immense spiritual value. Communities, charitable organizations, and individuals should come forward to extend support to the poor and the vulnerable. Even small gestures of kindness can bring relief and hope to those facing hardship. In a society striving for peace and progress, compassion must remain at its heart. Remembering the needy on this blessed night is not only a religious duty but also a reflection of humanity and social responsibility. When people stand together to support the weak, they strengthen the moral fabric of society. The true spirit of Shab-e-Qadr lies not only in prayers but also in uplifting those who need our help the most.
