Bandipora, Jun 4: In a major milestone for healthcare services in the district, District Hospital Bandipora successfully conducted its first-ever Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) surgical procedure, marking the beginning of specialized ENT surgical services at the hospital.
The landmark surgery, a Septoplasty for correction of a deviated nasal septum, was successfully performed by ENT Specialist Dr. Raies and his team. The successful completion of the procedure reflects the hospital’s growing capacity to provide advanced healthcare services closer to the people of Bandipora.
The surgery was assisted by Consultant Anaesthetist Dr. Iqbal Fateh along with other operation theatre staff, whose coordinated efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the procedure while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.
The introduction of ENT surgical services at District Hospital Bandipora is expected to significantly benefit patients who previously had to travel to tertiary care hospitals outside the district for such interventions. The availability of these services locally will help reduce referrals, save time and expenses for families, and improve access to quality healthcare.
Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Bandipora, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, congratulated Dr. Raies, Dr. Iqbal Fateh, and the entire surgical and theatre team for the successful achievement. He commended their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to patient care, stating that the accomplishment marks an important step in strengthening specialized healthcare services at the district level.
Hospital authorities described the achievement as another significant addition to the hospital’s expanding range of specialized medical and surgical services. They noted that District Hospital Bandipora has witnessed several landmark surgical achievements in recent years, underscoring its commitment to enhancing healthcare facilities and bringing advanced treatment options closer to the people of the district.
