Kupwara, Aug 3: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police died after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest while on duty in the Mawer area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.
An official said that the ASI collapsed while performing his duties in Mawer.
He said the policeman was shifted to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The official said the ASI is suspected to have suffered a cardiac arrest that led to his death. His identity is yet to be ascertained, while further investigation has been taken up. (KNO)
