Srinagar, Aug 22: Government of Jammu and Kashmir has nominated Director Information J&K as Festival Director for the 1st International Film Festival of Jammu & Kashmir (IFFJK)-2026.
As per Government Order, sanction has been accorded to nomination of Ms. Shreya Singhal, IAS (AGMUT:2020), Director Information, J&K, as Festival Director for IFFJK-2026 being organized from 7th to 10th September, 2026 in UT of Jammu & Kashmir.
The main venue of the festival will be Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) Srinagar with side events at Jammu and Gulmarg.
As per order, the officer shall be responsible for overall coordination and facilitation of festival and shall work in close coordination with all concerned stakeholders for its smooth and successful conduct.
She shall coordinate with offices of Divisional Commissioners Kashmir and Jammu and Nodal Officers designated by concerned Departments/Agencies besides other stakeholders as may be required.
All concerned Departments/Agencies, Divisional Administrations and Nodal Officers shall extend necessary cooperation and support to Festival Director and ensure timely action on matters pertaining to festival within their respective jurisdictions, the order reads.
The officer shall keep Administrative Department apprised of preparedness, inter-departmental coordination and any issues requiring intervention for successful conduct of festival.
The officer may, wherever necessary, convene coordination meetings with concerned Departments/Agencies and issue such operational directions as are required for ensuring effective coordination and implementation of festival-related arrangements. (GNS)
