Srinagar, Sep 3: The Ministry of Home Affairs has convened a meeting of the sub‑committee on issues concerning the Union Territory of Ladakh on September 9 in New Delhi.
In a post on X, Chief Secretary Ladakh Ashish Kundra, confirmed the development, stating: “The Ministry of Home Affairs has fixed an official meeting of the sub‑committee on 9th September in Delhi. This is part of the ongoing dialogue for deepening democratic processes in Ladakh.”
The sub-committee constituted in 2024 comprises officials from MHA, Ladakh administration and representatives of Apex Body Leh and Kargil Democratic Alliance- the two bodies seeking constitutional safeguards for the region, which was part of Jammu & Kashmir till October 30, 2019. (KNO)
