Srinagar, Sep 6: Acute water shortage in Panzinara area of Srinagar came to an end on Sunday, with residents crediting MLA Central Shaltang, Tariq Hameed Karra, for his swift and personal intervention that ensured restoration of supply within hours.
The area had been reeling under severe water scarcity for the past several days, forcing locals to raise the issue through a video appeal that caught the attention of the authorities.
“We were in great distress, but our MLA acted immediately,” said Muhammad Yaseen Malik, a local resident, said. “He spoke to the Chief Engineer, PHE Kashmir, on the very same day and got the issue resolved. We cannot thank him enough.”
Residents also acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Waleed Karra, Incharge Central Shaltang Constituency, who coordinated with the XEN Master Plan to ensure speedy restoration.
“The water is back and life is normal again,” Malik added. “We are deeply grateful to Tariq Hameed Karra and his entire team for treating our problem with such urgency.”
The locals have urged the administration to take long-term measures to prevent such crises in the future. (KNS)
