Govt orders transfer, posting of 100 police officers

Srinagar, Oct 9: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered a major reshuffle in the Police Department, transferring and posting 100 IPS and JKPS officers to various positions across the Union Territory with immediate effect.
According to an official order, the reshuffle includes senior IPS officers, district police chiefs, officers in the Crime Investigation Department (CID), Armed Police, Traffic Police, security wings and JKAP battalions.
Among the key changes, Danesh Rana, IPS (AGMUT: 1996), has been appointed Managing Director of the J&K Police Housing Corporation, relieving S.J.M. Gillani, IPS, of the additional charge.
Garib Dass, IPS, Director of the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur, has been posted as ADG Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF against an available vacancy. Dr. Mohd. Haseeb Mughal, IPS, has been appointed Director of SKPA Udhampur in his place.
Abdul Jabbar, IPS, has been posted as Inspector General of Police, Armed Police, Jammu, while Shahid Mehraj Rather, IPS, has been appointed IG Technical Services, J&K. Rather will continue to hold the additional charge of Director Police Telecommunications, J&K, until further orders.
In another significant change, Rayees Mohammad Bhat, IPS, has been posted as DIG CID Headquarters, J&K, while Shiv Kumar Sharma, IPS, has been appointed DIG Railways, replacing Zahid Naseem Manhas, IPS. Sharma’s previous position as DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range has been assigned to Swarn Singh Kotwal, IPS, who was serving as Director Special Security Force (SSF).
Zahid Naseem Manhas, IPS, has been posted as DIG Armed Police, Jammu. Meanwhile, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, IPS, SSP Traffic City Srinagar, has been appointed Commandant of 23 JKAP IR, while Bisma Qazi, IPS, has been posted as SSP Traffic City Srinagar, replacing Aijaz Ahmad Bhat.
Mohd. Yaseen Kichloo, IPS, has been appointed Principal of the State Training Centre (STC), Talwara, while Sanjay Kumar Kotwal, IPS, has been posted as Commandant of 18 JKAP IR, replacing Raj Singh Gouria.
The order also brings changes in several district police administrations.
Sudhanshu Dhama, IPS, SSP Ganderbal, has been transferred and posted as SSP Kupwara, replacing Syed Al Tahir Gillani. Dhama’s position at Ganderbal will be taken over by Harshal Rajesh Mahajan, IPS, who was serving as Additional SP Baramulla.
Vaibhav Meena, IPS, has been appointed SSP Poonch, replacing Shafket Hussain. Neha Jain, IPS, SP East Srinagar, has been posted as SSP Sopore in place of Iftkhar Talib.
Anna Sinha, IPS, SP Headquarters Jammu, has been appointed SSP Ramban, replacing Arun Gupta, while Sandeep Bhat, JKPS, Additional SP Udhampur, has been posted as SP Headquarters Jammu.
Sanjay Kumar, IPS, SSP Railways Katra, has been appointed Commandant of 18 JKAP IR, while Satish Kumar, IPS, has been posted as SSP Railways Jammu, replacing Shailender Singh.
Other district-level changes include the posting of Tahir Saleem Khan, JKPS, as SSP Bandipora in place of Ajaz Ahmed Zargar; Irshad Hussain Rather, JKPS, as SSP Awantipora in place of Sajad Ahmad Shah; and Owaise Rashid, JKPS, as Deputy Commandant of 6 JKAP IR, replacing Ashiq Hussain Tak.
The reshuffle extends to several specialised police units and security formations.
Shoket Hussain, JKPS, SSP PCR Srinagar, has been posted as AIG Welfare, Police Headquarters, replacing Hareesh H.P., IPS. Hareesh H.P., IPS, has been appointed Director SSF, replacing Swarn Singh Kotwal.
Mohd Yousuf, JKPS, SSP Security Civil Secretariat, has been posted as SSP Railways Kashmir, replacing Wasim Qadri. Wasim Qadri, JKPS, SSP Railways Kashmir, has been appointed SSP Security Kashmir, replacing Sajad Khaliq Bhat.
Sajad Khaliq Bhat, JKPS, has been posted as SSP Handwara, replacing Tahir Saleem Khan. Aijaz Ahmed Zargar, JKPS, SSP Bandipora, has been posted as SSP A CID Headquarters, replacing Master Popsy.
Farooq Qesor Malik, JKPS, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, has been appointed Commandant of 22 JKAP IR, replacing Mushim Ahmad. Mushim Ahmad has been posted as AIG Technical, Police Headquarters.
Mubashir Rasool, JKPS, Additional SP CID Headquarters, has been posted as SP Enforcement, replacing Dr. S.D. Choudhary. Dr. S.D. Choudhary, JKPS, SSP Enforcement, has been appointed Commandant of 12 JKAP Security.
Raj Paul Singh, JKPS, Additional SP SB CID Jammu, has been appointed Deputy Director SSG, replacing Rohit Baskotra. Rohit Baskotra, JKPS, SSP SSG, has been posted as AIG Personnel Headquarters.
Several officers have also been assigned new responsibilities in operational formations and district units.
Naeem Ahmad Wani, JKPS, Additional SP PCR Srinagar, has been posted as SP Hazratbal, replacing Hilal Khaliq Bhat. Hilal Khaliq Bhat, JKPS, SP Hazratbal, has been appointed Deputy Commandant of 8 JKAP IR.
Shah Umar, JKPS, SP Headquarters Srinagar, has been posted as Additional SP PCR Srinagar, replacing Naeem Ahmad Wani. Ghulam Mustafa Bhat, JKPS, Deputy Commandant of 17 JKAP IR, has been appointed SP Headquarters Srinagar.
Musaadiq Majid Basu, JKPS, SSP SS CID Headquarters, has been posted as SP East Srinagar, replacing Neha Jain, IPS. Arvinder Singh Kotwal, JKPS, Additional SP Traffic Jammu, has been posted as Staff Officer to DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, replacing Sanjay Sharma.
Baljit Singh, JKPS, Additional SP Nowshera, has been appointed SP North Jammu, replacing Vivek Shekhar Sharma. Nikhil Rasgotra, JKPS, Additional SP CID CI Jammu, has been posted as Additional SP Nowshera.
Pardeep Kumar, JKPS, Additional SP SIA, has been posted as Additional SP Samba, while Garu Ram, JKPS, Additional SP Samba, has been appointed Deputy Commandant of 1 JKAP Border.
Bikram Kumar, JKPS, Additional SP Rajouri, has been appointed Vice Principal of Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI), Vijaypur. Vaseem Mehmood, JKPS, has been posted as Additional SP Rajouri.

Several other officers have been posted against available vacancies in different wings, including CID, JKAP battalions, security formations and operational units.
