Bandipora, Dec 15: Authorities in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district have left unattended an old government district hospital building after shifting the hospital to the new complex, locals complained on Wednesday.
Locals said that ever since the hospital was shifted to the new complex, the authorities has left the old government hospital building unattended at Bandipora.
“The authorities have left the building unattended. No one is looking after its maintenance. Though the concerned department had posted two doctors here, we never saw them on duty,” the locals claimed.
According to locals the building is surrounded by Faiz e Aam Secondary School and a block medical office building which has been damaged by a recent fire incident.
“The administration should use this building properly so that it will not be damaged. We will not allow this building to be damaged here,” locals said.
“We have repeatedly asked the concerned authorities to make this building functional properly but nothing has happened yet,” Ahamad Ali a local said, adding that the windows and some glass of the building were broken by miscreants and it looks like a ghost house.
Medical Superintendent (MS), district hospital Bandipora Dr Mushtaq said that the four sections of the health hospital are currently running from 10 am to 4 pm at the old DH building. He however said that there will be a watchman for the night as well in the coming days.
