Keep Kashmir connected

Jammu and Kashmir, known as the land of Sufi saints, is now witnessing a worse situation as the crimes within the society have increased, leaving the citizens in utter shock. There are several instances when the stabbing incidents were reported in different areas in Kashmir, which left many people dead. In one of such instances, a teenage boy, from Kohna Khan area of Srinagar was killed after he was stabbed by a youngster after a scuffle broke out between them on Saturday. The accused, who is a juvenile, has been arrested by Police in a swift action. Such incidents are on rise in the Valley, which is a cause of concern as there has been no let up in the stabbing incidents, despite the government imposing a ban on sale of sharp edged weapons in the market. The rise in stabbing incidents are testimony to the fact that the situation calls for immediate and necessary measures that could help in preventing such crime incidents in Jammu & Kashmir. But, it is the time when the parents need to keep close watch on their children to see whether they are following the right path in their lives and ensure they are not spending their time outside home in bad company. The parents have to play a key role at this juncture that could help controlling the situation at earliest. Besides, the Islamic jurists need to make people aware by shedding light on the teachings of religion so that the incidents that harm the society will be put to an immediate end.
