Baramulla, Sep 27: A grand SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) awareness programme was held Friday at the Tangmarg Playground and Artisan Kunzer under the guidance of the District Election Officer Baramulla, Minga Sherpa.
The event marked a significant milestone in the voter awareness initiatives of the district.
The programme was graced by the presence of Election Commission of India appointed Observers for Baramulla, Vishal Kumar Vaghela and Amit Dahiya, who appreciated the efforts being made to enhance the voter participation. The event was further attended by SDM Gulmarg, Altaf Hussain, Nodal Officer SVEEP, 11-Gulmarg Assembly constituency, other Officers and hundreds of other participants.
As part of the program, a mega rally was also held at Tangmarg to further emphasize the importance of voter participation and engage the community. A series of additional activities were conducted to create greater awareness about the electoral process.
Cultural programs along with engaging SVEEP-related initiatives kept the audience involved and educated, fulfilling its purpose of promoting democratic engagement and raising awareness about the significance of every vote, paving the way for more informed and active participation in the upcoming elections.
Speaking on the occasion, the DEO extended his gratitude to the participants for their enthusiastic response and highlighted the significance of SVEEP initiatives in ensuring free, fair, and inclusive elections.
Minga Sherpa further stressed the need for every eligible voter to come out and exercise their democratic right on 1st October, as every vote holds the power to shape the legislative representation of their community.
