Forests: The backbone of earth’s ecosystem

There has been a mushroom growth of private schools across Jammu and Kashmir while the student enrollment too has been increasing with each passing year, but what remains unchanged within these institutions is inadequate salaries for the teachers, who are putting their blood and sweat to make the future of the nation bright by educating the children. One fails to understand why there has been no end to the culture of giving meagre amounts as the monthly salaries to these teachers. Teaching is considered a noble profession, but the majority of the school administrations have been degrading the profession by failing to ensure enough salary to their teaching staff in order to boost the morale of the faculty for giving their best in making the future bright. However, some of the complaints have been put forth before the government, who has assured a strict action against those found violating the norms set by the government. Such assurances must be implemented in letter and spirit and importantly, there is a need to take necessary steps in this regard to ensure there has been at least some decision vis-à-vis the salaries of the teaching staff, working in different schools across Jammu and Kashmir so that they could heave a sigh of relief. Besides, the other complaints against the private schools must be looked into thoroughly to put an end to the sufferings of the parents as well as the students enrolled in these institutions. The time has come to streamline the education sector by taking people-friendly decisions, which would benefit the students and also help in ensuring quality education.
