Kashmir tourism bounces back after Pahalgam massacre

The situation in Jammu and Kashmir due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic is worrisome and the government, doctors, police and other agencies are combating the virus on the ground. However, some political leaders affiliated with different parties are out to make unnecessary statements in the media. Some leaders instead of ensuring a helping hand amid the prevalent situation are out to make their name by making statements, which are totally uncalled for. Some statements read that the deaths and spike in cases are cause of concern. The leader seems unaware about the fact the people and the government are quite concerned about the prevalent situation and thus have been going ahead with the lockdown, known as a Corona curfew from April 29 in order to prevent the virus from spreading. The people are already afraid of their livelihood as well as their health. There is a need to help the needy at this juncture instead of coming up with the avoidable statements. One fails to understand why the leaders are adding salt on the wounds of the people amid prevalent situations. Instead of doing so, they have a responsibility to identify the deserving lot in their respective localities and constituencies to help them so that they can survive and would not suffer in the present difficult times. If the leaders are reluctant to help the needy, they don’t have the right too to criticize the government initiatives and also rub the salt on the wounds of the people.
