On the World no Tobacco day, many experts threw light through their social media posts with regard to smoking. The World Health Organization (WHO) also observed this day to spread awareness about the dangers of using tobacco. The day takes more importance this year as countries across the world are battling Covid-19 pandemic. In Jammu and Kashmir, a number of people who were infected with the disease were put on oxygen support as their saturation level got affected badly during the period. The medicos treating the patients sounded alert among the smokers, saying that they are at higher risk of getting infected and their health condition can go worse during the period. In such a situation, many of the people who were chain smokers have done away with the smoking to prevent any difficult health situation in future. Not only in Covid, but the smokers have been facing other health issues too like lack of stamina, Asthma issues and others. The smoking as per the experts is also the reason behind the heart attacks in J&K. Thus in order to keep ourselves safe and protected, the people who are smokers must consider quitting smoking at an earliest. The healthy future lies in the hands of people.
