The travellers travelling to Srinagar from different parts are being forced to undergo frequent COVID-19 testing despite authorities making the tests valid till 48 hours. The travellers are facing immense hardships while travelling to Srinagar and vice-versa as they are being asked to undergo testing twice or thrice in just 24 hours despite having the valid Covid-19 certificate. It doesn’t only land the travellers into the hardships, but also drain their money as well, leaving them to lurch at large. Taking measures to ensure prevention of the Covid cases is alright, but pushing the people to face hardships is putting a huge question mark over the claims of the government regarding ensuring hassle free movement of the travellers. The implementation of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) is the need of the hour, but the government should ensure that the common people, especially the travellers, are not pushed to the wall. The government must ensure that the Covid testing certificates are valid till the set norms as per the health experts as undergoing testing for thrice within the period of just 24 hours is causing great inconvenience to the people, which must be put to an end so that the commoners could heave a sigh of relief. Instead, the government should ensure that all the requisite measures including the Covid certificate and the protocols are followed in the spirit.
