Accommodation of protected persons: Govt dehires 14 hotels in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 12: The government has dehired 14 hotels in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, where the protected persons were given accommodation.
According to reports, at least 14 hotels where protected persons were accommodated, have been dehired. The District Commissioners (DCs), Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), SSP Security and SSP PCR, have been directed to explore the possibility to accommodate the persons who had accommodations in these hotels.
In the recently held meeting, chaired by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, P K Pole, attended by the DC Anantnag, Bandipora, Baramulla, Budgam, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara, Pulwama, Shopian, Srinagar along with SSPs through video conferencing, the concerned district administrations has been told that it shall be now solely responsible for the safe and secure accommodation in the district.
“In the wake of the dehiring all accommodation in 14 hotels at Srinagar the chair remarked that concerned District admin shall be now solely responsible for the safe and secure accommodation in the district and whosoever has not yet reported in the district shall be immediately called back by deputing security teams to Srinagar and in this regard SSP Srinagar shall be taken on board,” the minutes of the meeting, held on 09-10-2021 reads
“Further, irrespective of the undertaking given by protected person with regard to refusal of security and secure accommodation, possibility shall be explored to accommodate them in safe and secure accommodation identified by District Administration,” the DCs, SSPs of Kashmir division, SSP Security and SSP PCR have been directed by the chair.
