Digitization major initiative towards good governance: Dr Owais

Bandipora, Sep 2: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed Friday distributed land passbooks among the farmers of Bandipora in a function organised at Mini Secretariat here.
The function was attended by ACR Bandipora Parvaiz Rahim, NTs of Bandipora Tehsil and other revenue officials and landowners/ farmers.
ACR Bandipora informed that Land passbooks among more than 100 farmers were distributed to ease the process of provision of updated land records to farmers.
The DC said that the land passbook prescribed by the Revenue Department is true to the records and can be generated online by landholder without visiting a patwari or tehsildar or any revenue office.
He said this is a major initiative towards good governance and ease of convenience to the citizens.
Similar functions of distributing land passbooks were organised at all Tehsils of the district and also at SDM Office Sumbal where SDM Sumbal Dr. Bashir Lone distributed land passbooks among the land holders of the Sumbal Subdivision.
