Anantnag, Sep 17: Member Parliament, Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency, Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi Saturday chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committees (DISHA) meeting at Dak Bungalow Khanabal, here.
Addressing PRI members and officers of district administration, Masoodi said that the aim of DISHA meeting is to identify any impediments in implementation of welfare schemes so that effective solutions can be worked out.
He said that DISHA is a multi-departmental forum to evaluate development activities across the spectrum and to identify gap areas. He said that several CSS schemes are presently operational in the district and monitoring their implementation is essential to ensure that intended benefits percolate to genuine beneficiaries.
Masoodi reviewed various schemes including MGNREGA, PMAY, NRLM, NHM, Ayushman Bharat/ JK Sehat Scheme, JSY, JSSK PMGSY, SBM, IDPS, RDSS, JJM, AIBP, PMKSY, ICDS, DILRMP, ICPS, MSK, OSC-W, NFBS, Credit Linkage etc.
He also took department wise extensive review of Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry.
While taking stock of Department wise progress, MP stressed upon bettering the performance under these schemes especially under power transmission and distribution schemes, MGNREGA, SBM, PMAY, NRLM, JJM and ICPS.
Focusing on the welfare measures for dairy farmers, the MP said that while the milk production in the district is on the rise, however, increased intervention for improving marketability of milk produce is essential to increase the income of dairy farmers.
He said that a DPR has been framed for establishing a mandi in Rampora area for the benefit of fruit growers. He also said that a project for replacement of barbed wire from the electrical network is underway.
Regarding MRI and PET scan facilities, he said that such facilities should be available in the District Hospital and he has held talks with the Ministry of Health in this regard. He also said the maternity hospital needs to be shifted and a report regarding the feasibility of the move has been solicited. He further said that a press club must be established in the District and he will designate funds from MPLAD for the same.
