Srinagar, Feb 12: Residents of the Warpora area of Tangmarg in Baramulla district have demanded proper medical facilities at NTPHC Warpora saying the health facility lacks doctor.
The residents of the area said that the health Sub-centre at Warapora Tangmarg was upgraded to New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) in 2014 but no doctor hasn’t been posted there ever.
Nazir Ahmad Mir, a local resident said that residents of different villages namely Warapora, Ziran, Batoo, Budipora, Fajipora, Mullabangil, Hajibal, Waniloo and its adjoining areas are suffering as they had to visit SDH Tangmarg for even minor ailments.
He stated that the absence of doctors and essential facilities is burdening poor patients in terms of both time and money, forcing them to reach other hospitals as they have no alternative.
Khursheed Ahmad, another local said that with the completion of the new building, they were expecting that the doctor will be posted here but that hasn’t happened as of now.
He said just a pharmacist and two multiple purpose workers are running the hospital and no facilities other than immunisation and first aid are available there.
Locals said that they have taken up the issue of availability of doctor, laboratory and ambulance facilities available with the concerned to no avail.
