Amidst the poll fervor in Jammu and Kashmir, the candidates in the electoral fray have for the first time preferred to launch door-to-door campaigns instead of the rallies that were being witnessed in the Union Territory during the previous polls held here. At least 26 Assembly segments are set to go to the polls in Jammu and Kashmir in the second phase of elections on September 25, 2024 while the third and last phase will be held on October 01, 2024. The door-to-door campaigning is seemingly turning out to be a major relief for the candidates in the fray to woo the voters by meeting them in person and appealing them to cast their ballots in their favour. It has been witnessed that the candidates are now seeking the votes by meeting at the door steps, which has been paving them a way to get connected with the voters. The rallies that were being witnessed in the different areas ahead of the polls are missing from the ground as almost all the candidates prefer door-to-door campaigning. It would be interesting to see whether the door-to-door campaigning will help the candidates to transfer the votes on the day of elections as the direct conversation between the candidates and voters has for the first time given the voters a chance to speak out of their heart and put forth their demands. The candidates in the fray are expecting a good voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir in this assembly election, but it has to be seen whether the method of campaigning will help them in gaining the vote share during the elections.
