Exfiltration bid foiled in Uri, 3 youth, guide held

Baramulla, Jul 2: At least three youth from north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, who were trying to exfiltrate to Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK) were arrested by security forces in Uri border town on Friday. A guide has also been arrested, police said.
A police spokesman in a statement, said that security forces received input that three local youth were received by one Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Hajam of Gohallan Uri, being a guide at Boniyar in order to exfiltrate them to PaK through Gowhallan sector.
Acting swiftly upon the input, Junaid Wali, SDPO Uri and Inspector Muhammad Ashraf, SHO PS Uri, arrested one guide namely Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam alongwith three local youth.
The local youth identified as Muhammad Shafi Hajam, son of Abdul Ahad Hajam of Sheeri Mirhar, (Barber), Reyaz Ahmad Bhat, son of Manzoor Ahmad of Sheeri Mirhar, (Shopkeeper at Sheeri Bazar) and Yasir Bhat, son of Ghulam Muhammad of Chatloora Sopore, (Carpenter) were detained at the MVCP and incriminating material including sharp knives, torch etc were also recovered from them.
Accordingly, police said that a case under relevant sections has been registered while further questioning of all the detained persons is in progress.
